Friday practice was a peach for the racers both posting the top times in the initial outings. The racers first rounds also went well, 511 bringing his machine first across the line. Pelletier was feeling a little racier this week after a few days recouperation and pushed to a second in his heat. Round two of qualifying is where things heated up a little, Lebel with a holeshot lead going into the first corner received a little tap in the rear. Being forced to straighten up he left the race course. When Jordan safely re-entered the course, he was second to last, on an extremely one lined easy track. 511 made a few moves and fought his way up to fourth position. His 1-4 result was only good enough for seventh pick in the final. Pelletier prepared for his qualifier finds himself pondering why the official fails to call a restart as there was concrete evidence of a jump start. Forced to play catch up 220 is only able to garner a sixth-place position same as his pick for the final.
The fantastic finals turned out to be a stellar evening for the Makita backed duo. Lebel doing what he does, making it look easy. Holeshot-win from the outside of the starting gate, marking his third consecutive win of the season. Pelletier pulled the trigger on his Speedwerx tuned RS600 and precisely pulled a perfect holeshot, only to make a small bobble and relinquish the lead. Gapping the field Pelletier pushing for Pro prowess was in the perfect position to reclaim the lead on lap eight. Never looking back Frank clicked off fast laps until the end marking his first Pro win of his career.
Saturday much a copy of the previous day of racing, both racers posting top times in preparation for their qualifiers. Lebel got a little sloppy on the line of his first qualifier causing the black flag to be waved. He was then forced to file to the back of the pack for his infraction finishing sixth. Round two of Pro Lite qualifying Jordan was able to easily win giving him sixth pick for the final. Pelletier posted a 3-2 result in his qualification to earn him second pick in the final.
Pro Lite action saw the Speedwerx tuned 511 machine of Lebel round the first corner in the lead. Just before the half way point of the race the red flag was waved stopping the race. The racers were then lined up in a staggered single file line according to their position on the track for the restart. Lebel did not let this rattle him as the course went green again, he pulled away for his fourth consecutive win of the season. Pelletier after catching a little “gold fever” the night before also ripped a superb holeshot in his final. Dressed for success and flying out front with a sizeable lead over second you could almost smell the “Armonde Dior” coming off the exhaust. Francis easily went on to his second Pro career win giving the team a clean sweep of the Pro podiums in Dubuque.
The team will next see action January 28&29th in the historic town of Deadwood South Dakota.
