Lincoln Lemieux, Tim Tremblay Finish 1-2 At Soaring Eagle National In Michigan
Aurora, Minn. (February 26, 2018) Lincoln Lemieux raced to his first Pro final victory of the season on Friday night in Mount Pleasant, Michigan leading teammate Tim Tremblay to a 1-2 finish for the AMSOIL/U.S. Air Force/Ford/Milwaukee Tool team.
Lemieux, who was fast but struggled with a few mistakes at the previous rounds in New York, came into the weekend vowing to get a win. At the drop of the green flag, Lemieux and Tremblay raced nose-to-tail in the fourth and fifth position. Racing each other hard to close the gap on the leader, Tremblay made his way past Lemieux momentarily before Lemieux regained the advantage for good. Just past the midway point of the main event, Lemieux took over the top position with Tremblay slotting into second just three laps later.
It was a great team win and a huge confidence and momentum builder as the season rapidly accelerates toward the final five rounds over the next three weeks.
Hunter Patenaude was undefeated in Pro Lite qualifying on Friday and raced his way up to sixth place in the round 11 final after getting off to a mid-pack start.
On Saturday, Tim Tremblay started in the sixth position in the Pro Final, dropped one spot on the opening lap and then steadily picked off riders as he made his way back up to the fourth spot with 10 laps to go. Tremblay reeled in the third place rider on the final ciruit and used lapped traffic to his advantage to make the pass for the final podium spot in the last corner before the finish. The result was Tremblay’s third podium in four rounds since returning from injury.
Francis Pelletier has been on a steady climb in the Sport class points standings. Pelletier missed the podium for the first time in several weeks on Friday night but came back strong with another win on Saturday.
While in Michigan, the team took part in a school visit with the U.S. Air Force and was also able to celebrate our 35 years partnership with Woody’s, during the annual pre-race Open House at their facility in Hope, Michigan.
Up next are rounds 13 and 14 from Dubuque, Iowa on March 9-10.
