ISOC released a statement today announcing that because of uncertainty surrounding COVID restrictions in New York, the February 19-20 rounds in Salamanca, will be relocated to a venue in another state. ISOC’s Matt Skubic made it very clear that the series will continue with plans to run all 16 rounds over eight race weekends.
With more and more information about the vaccine for the pandemic coming available, we still remain confident and optimistic about 8 great events happening this season. I know there is rumors going around about the Salamanca, NY race and I want to set it straight… I am aware of the email that was sent to you racers recently, but now we have chosen to move forward with changing that event entirely because of the restrictions in New York.
If you have hotel plans in Salamanca, I can tell you 100% confidently to cancel those because we will not be having a race in Salamanca this season. The positive side of this, is that we have a couple different options on where to hold a race that weekend. We will keep you guys up to date on when a decision is made, but just know we are going to stick with 8 races and we WILL choose a place to race soon.
Matt Skubic, ISOC
