The young guns are starting to make a name for themselves in District 23 off-road. Logan Kittock picked up his first-ever series AA win on Sunday at the Hare Scrambles finale laid out in the soggy hills and valleys surrounding the Spring Creek Motocross Park in Millville, Minnesota.
Kittock and rival Austin Pogreba, who also picked up his first class win earlier this year at the Duquette enduro, have been among the front-runners in the premier division all season, challenging wily veterans such as Nathan Ferderer, Kyle Nelson and Tyler Pogreba. Ferderer remains the king of D23 sweeping every event he competed in this season and 2017 champ Nick Swenson has been absent from the series while contesting the national enduro championship. However, Pogreba and especially Kittock have been hitting races all over the midwest this summer upping their game to an elite level.
Not to be overlooked was the performance of Craig Holasek, one of the series’ longest tenured and most decorated racers, who used his decades of experience at Millville to post a second overall to Kittock in the less than favorable conditions.
The final round was relocated to Millville just a few weeks ago and despite heavy rain in the days leading up to the event, most participants called it an overwhelming success with the mud and slop only adding to the fun and fatigue of an epic fall Sunday.
