Shakopee, MN (2/22/21) – Hentges Racing Polaris’ showed speed, handling and Pro racer consistency after departing Sioux Falls, South Dakota this past weekend. Both teammates, Kody Kamm and Oskar Norum have been trading top spots in a tight race for the National Championship. The former champ, Kamm, has moved to 2nd in national points with three more venue stops left.
The W.H Lyon Fairground track was considered small, but the jumps were gigantic and the timing needed of racers took all their focus to find speed. Heading into the Friday night final, Kamm qualified 4-1 in his heats and ran a solid final finishing fifth.
Kamm said, “When you’re past the halfway part of the season, every point gained towards the championship counts when you are near the top. And you won’t have a chance for contention if you fall off the sled on a big air technical track like this. Finishing with consistency gets results.”
On Saturday, both Kamm and Norum qualified closer to each other going 1-2 and 3-4 in their heats. When the green light lit for the final, both riders were mid-pack, but it was Kamm who battled impressively through the field from 10th place to finishing 4th when the checkers flew.
“Saturday was tough. Our Polaris sleds ran awesome. I got pinched on the start and was happy to come out clean, but I put my head down and kept picking off positions. These Walker Evans shocks were put to the test. I pushed them to the limits without fail and found speed through the gnarly sections.”
Hentges Racing team owner, Nate Hentges said, “We always strive to be on the podium, but I was extremely happy with our top five finishes this weekend, moving up the points standings and our consistency. Our equipment and sponsors are top notch, and I have no doubts we’ll be back up front at the next round in Elk River.”
Next up, Hentges Racing will return to ERX Motorpark in Elk River, MN on March 5-6, 2021. Currently Kody Kamm is 2nd in National Pro points, and Oskar Norum 5th.
