With the recent release of the 2017-2018 schedule, AMSOIL Championship Snocross Powered by Ram is pleased to announce the addition of a 200cc Stock class to its already stout race day schedule. When Arctic Cat released the new ZR 200 this past March, ISOC knew that this would a great class to have on national and regional tours to help fill the gaps for the younger generation of riders. This new class will be running at all 8 National events and 6 Regional events by the 8-12-year old’s. The 2018 Arctic Cat ZR 200 has some of the best features for any young snowmobile enthusiast, featuring new halogen headlights for better visibility on the track or the trail. The ZR also has a new Arctic 200 drive performance system to help the snowmobile feel as if it is afull-size machine. This revolutionary snowmobile is bound to turn heads on snocross tracks all over the United States. This class will be sponsored by Recreational Motorsports, a longtime supporter of the youth classes within the national series. For more information on the 200cc class, visit www.isrracing.org or http://recmotor.com In an effort to expand the youth classes, ISOC President, Carl Schubitke, shared, “I’m excited that Arctic Cat came out with the ZR 200. I feel it will be a great entry level snowmobile and allow more kids to get involved in snowmobiling.” Also, new in the youth Snocross divisions are the changes to the Champ 120 class. This class will now be allowed to run a stock Briggs 206 racing engine. Although, with the new motor package allotted, racers and teams may still use their current 120cc modified engines. The reasoning for allowing the use of the new motor, is to hopefully make the Champ 120 class more affordable. By making the class more affordable, it is believed that there will be an improvement to racing and lower the cost to go racing.
