More than two decades after Paul Edmonson made history by securing the first of the nine World Enduro Championships for GasGas, the prestigious Spanish dirtbike brand takes another step forward with the launch of the new 2019 GasGas EC and XC. Our versatile, powerful, and durable all-terrain machines are designed to meet the needs of today’s enduro rider, whatever their level.
With a dry weight just over 230 pounds, positioning it as one of the lightest bikes on the market, the new GasGas EC and XC models offer continued improvements over their predecessors, with updates to its engine, electrical system, and ergonomics.
For MY2019, the GasGas 250 and 300cc off-road bikes have a new cylinder head. The new head allows for an increase in both cooling and power, achieving a more linear delivery of torque throughout the RPM range.
As with its revolutionary predecessor, GasGas has made a firm commitment to superb attention to detail, offering maximum-quality components from Kayaba, Magura, FMF, Keihin, Neken, and Excel on the 2019 edition. The entire EC/XC model lineup incorporates a new Neken 1 1/8” brace-less handlebar, along with a new GasGas bar pad. Complimenting the new handlebars are new bar clamps and new Neken grips, both of which improve feel and offer greater control and precision.
The electrical system is where the GasGas technical department concentrated much of their efforts for the new enduro range. A new starter motor and a larger-capacity battery ensure rapid starts at the push of a button. Also included for 2019 is a double-map CDI switch, allowing the rider to choose “Sun/Rain” to adapt the power delivery to the conditions, offering greater traction and allowing the rider to get the most out of wet or dry terrain. Finally, a new mounting system for the enduro computer holds the display at the optimum viewing angle.
