For 51 weeks out of the year Cody Matechuk is a relative unknown in the action sports world, but he’s made a habit of putting a stamp on the fourth week in January, when he has become the man on snow bikes. An avid motocrosser and snowmobiler, Matechuk is a back country snowmobile guide in Canada and a snow bike riding partner of 2017 gold medalist Brock Hoyer.
Matechuk was on the podium with Hoyer when he collected a Bronze in the inagural WXG Snow Bikecross last year. On Saturday he walked away from a star-studded field, including pal Hoyer, who finshed second. 2017 Pro Snocross Champion Kody Kamm started dabbling with snow bikes a couple months ago and showed his true versatility on sleds and bikes, scoring the Bronze.
