Elias Ishoel suffered from poor starts, including getting caught in a first lap pileup Friday night, but only dropped one spot and is still the early favorite until proven otherwise on a consistent basis. Logan Christian is another rider who had his best ride of the season on Friday but still needs to put full nights together on a weekly basis to make a real dent in the standing.
Gustav Sahlsten did an admirable job in his first outing in the U.S. with a pair of top 10s. Word is he may not be staying full time, but with the injury to teammate Aki Pihlaja that may change this week.
