Finley, ND (March 8, 2021) – Each round of the ISOC national snocross tour pays the same number of points, but Evan Christian is hitting his stride in the final weeks of the season, including another win on Saturday, and now finds himself at the top of the class standings.
Christian has been hovering just a few points out of the lead for the last several rounds but the win, combined with great heat race results and a second place in Friday’s main event, leapfrogged him into the top spot with one of the biggest point advantages for any rider this season.
Evan Christian –
I think overall the weekend went really great. I came into it with the mindset that you never know about the last couple races so just push and do the best I can every time I touched the track.
The whole KC Motorsports team had the sled working awesome on the track and worked really good for me as well. Going forward I’m gonna keep my head down and keep pushing just as hard as before and not take this opportunity for granted.
Evan Daudt had strong qualifying runs on Friday, including a heat race win, and continued his upward climb in the standings with a fifth place in the main event. Daudt was on pace for another solid outing on Saturday when he qualified on the front row of the final after going 4-2 in his heats. Unfortunately, Evan was involved in an incident where he became trapped under another rider’s snowmobile. The rotating studded track tore into Evan’s Fly Racing pants which, along with his knee braces, protected him from serious injury.
Despite the setback, Daudt and the entire team are extremely motivated to carry the momentum that has built over the past month and a half. The series will have an open weekend coming up and then finish with back-to-back weekends starting March 19. Rounds 13 and 14 will take place at the famous World Championship Derby Complex in Eagle River, Wisconsin. This is a recent change to the traditional date in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
